Closetdoorhardware.net is your information source for closet door hardware on the internet. Traditional prehung closet doors require only knobs and hinges to function correctly. However, with the wide assortment and availability of closet door applications today you may require track, rollers, pulls, and various other hardware to provide smooth operation of your door unit.
Before selecting any hardware, the first order of business will be to decide exactly what type of closet door that you want to install. This decision will depend on several factors. How large or small will your closet be, how wide of an entrance will you want, do you have the floor space needed for a traditional prehung swing door, should that be your choice?
Keep in mind that a single traditional prehung swing door unit can take up to ten square feet of floor space, double that, up to twenty square feet for a double prehung swing door unit. By installing a pocket door unit in place of a standard prehung swing door unit, you can create space for that bookcase, aquarium, or shelving unit you’ve been wanting. A bifold door unit, multifold unit, wall mount, pocket door, or bypass doors, will also take up less floor space than a prehung swing door. Listed below are several different closet door options for your consideration along with the hardware required.
